Sheet Music of Pachelbel Johann

Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706)

Sheet Music and Program Notes

Pachelbel was a German composer and organist of the Baroque era.  He is known for his contribution to the chorale prelude and fugue.  Today is is best known for the "Pachelbel Canon in D."  Johan Christina Bach was Pachelbel's landlord.  Pachelbel was invited to provide music for Johann Christoph Bach's wedding where he met the young Johan Sebastian Bach who then was nine years old.

Although he had no great influence on later baroque composers, he had influence on Johann Sebastian Bach.  Young Bach was taught by his older Brother whom was a student of Pachelbel.  Much of his music went out of popularity until it was re-discovered in the mid 20th century.
